I got stone-cold rejected from the UTSW Austin, Texas program. I was very surprised -- I lived there for a very long time, my application is decent, I volunteered hundreds of hours at the hospital before going to med school, and I've been invited to better programs. Meanies.

FWIW, it's quite rare to go through this process with 0 rejections. One of my advisors straight up told me that maybe 1 out of every 100 students he sees gets interviews at every place. Even then, it doesn't really matter... at the end you only need one place.

Even if that were the case, my guess is that people won't get formally rejected until January because there's always the chance that people will cancel interviews on them.
