hello everyone.. how come there s no activity in this forum?. any interviews yet. i just got acknowledgements.
 
Hi everyone. I am an old graduate ( 2007) and could not apply earlier due to visa and family issue. I am applying for endo and have geographical limitation to New york city. how compet tive are these programs ? Any experience? I am planning for my LOR to upload hopefully will be able to start sending applications tomorrow. Also do u send MSPE and usmle transcript by default or only if it is asked? I am desperate for endo but with limited position should i apply for other speciality? I dont want to be hospitalist fr rest of my life. My credentials are average with 4 year experience in academic medicine.

No harm done in sending USMLE Transcript and MSPE. I sent to all program.
I guess u choose a specialty that you want to do the rest of your life, so if you like Endo you should pursue it rather than choosing any specialty. Else, you wont be a hospitalist but you still won't be happy.

Any response from NY program? Do they atleast acknowledge? I have only applied in NY area and getting anxious as no reponse so far , applied a week ago. anyone with average credentials is it really hard to get interviews?
 
Are you calling or emailing programs to find out when they start to send interviews as lots of programs dont send any letter of acknowledgement , if my applications is rejected I want to apply to more places before it is too late.
 
I also applied to NYC programs but haven't heard from them yet. I guess we just have to be patient and wait,

Still waiting to hear back. I am just so dang curious !

8 programs still have not downloaded my application. I think what everyone was saying above about programs not starting to officially start their screening process until August is true.

So I always hear that Endo is one of the least competitive programs, but I saw in a 2012 thread that 40% of applicants didn't match the year prior, hmmm I wonder if thats even true, thats a crazy high number, and would by definition make it just as competitive as cards/GI.

Question: In what form are people receiving awknowledgements ? Emails ? Letters to your home ? Eras Inbox message ? Hmmmm.. I would appreciate anyones thoughts.

Also I found out that some programs are using "interview broker" (google it) this year, and so some invites will not show up in ERAS, so careful cause I hear that its buggy and sometimes the invites are not received. I have no idea why programs would use a system outside of ERAS. This one is supposed to be convenient since its an online calender and all the residents invited can sign up for an interview date easily by whats available. Just an FYI.

I will follow along here this season. Would love for others to be involved and give your thoughts as we could all use each others knowledge on whats goin on.

Anyone in new york city. Heard from any program. No interviews or rejection so far. Should I just wait or call the programs as from my residency experience NYC programs are not good with communication, may be too many applications for em to entertain. Thanks.
