Can you please give me your ideas about my situation? When do you think I have to retake my DAT? My AA and TS are 19, PAT 20, RC20, and I have a GPA of 3.84. But I haven't taken all of my prerequisites yet. I started getting disappointed for getting any interviews. My application was mailed out on 8/27.
My mail out date is 8/13 and my stats are slightly higher than yours. But so far I have only gotten only 2 interviews. So hang in there! You may have to hear back from the schools after Dec!

I have been applying for 3 years and my first interview was last year in feb at Roseman and I was waitlisted...my interview date this year is October 23rd! My perseverance will pay off eventually!

Hey YGazis109, I can relate to your experiences with undergrad, I've been in a similar situation for the past 4 years. My interview is on the 23rd at Roseman as well! See you there!

If we wanted to add a school, what school would you recommend to add? I only applied to 10 school but want to add more, have Cali, Roseman, LECOM, NYU and BU. Have money to spend a couple more. A little scared but most here say wait until end of October to start worrying and for sure worry if none by December.

hey i saw in ur old posts you did the MBS program. whats ur new bcp and science GPA after completing the program?

Hey, the MBS doesn't raise the GPA as much as people think, only 30 cr compared to 120+ of undergrad work. I saw in your recent post that you also did the MBS at Rutgers during 2013-2014...any chance we were classmates?

During the application process my transcripts were lost in processing by my university. I was not notified until 2 weeks later and following the resending of my transcripts, my application was completed 4 weeks after my original completion. I have seen all the posts about applying early and being in the first cycles of applicants but due to this mishap, that was not really an option.

My question is how negative will this be on my chances and along what timeline from your initial "application under review" period did you hear about interviews?

GPA: 3.8 overall, 3.67 science
DAT: 20/19/21
FL residency

Your application would have taken 4-6 weeks to be completed after e-submitting regardless of whether they lost your transcript or not. As soon as your transcript was received by them, they immediately finish your app as soon as they can. If you had done this early (June 2) then you would have been completed by July at the latest even with the "mishap." Therefore, I don't see how applying late is the fault of the transcript being lost. However, your scores are pretty decent so you should be able to get a few interviews. This also depends on where you applied.

Same thing happened to me. Not exactly sure what they are looking for but keep your chin up.

I recently got interviews for USC and UCLA and interviewed at Western a week and a half ago. I had to sit on my UCSF rejection for a whole month before I started to hear from other schools.

Congrats! Do you (or anyone else) know if Mich is doing interviews based on your mail-out date? Mine was 7/31, and I've seen mostly people from June and early July..although I saw someone with 7/24.

Even though I called them plenty of times I did not ask/obtain this info. Sorry

ALSO (already posted in NOVA thread), I had to defer my NOVA November 6th slot if anyone wants to pick that up

Wow. Congrats! You should defer a couple of those that are lowest on your list to post December. I'm saying that as someone who didn't even apply to most of those on your list, so you know you can trust me haha 🙂

Wouldn't schools be really upset if you deferred an interview? Wouldn't they think you were less serious about the school and be less likely to admit you? I'd like to defer some of my interviews too but I'm afraid they'd just reject me...
Also, does anyone know how to go about asking a school to defer an interview and what reason you'd give them for doing so?

Maybe. I changed a few of my dates (still pre-December). If you're still in school, say you have a test that day and ask for other available times. That's what I did, thought it was true haha. Any legitimate excuse should be fine.

Oh, I meant deferring a pre-december interview to post-december

Ya so like if they give you November 2, for example, perhaps you have a midterm due that day that cannot be moved. If you explain the situation, they may offer you a new date that may be post December. It's a reasonable excuse. If you say "you're my last choice and I'm going to cancel the late interview when I get in somewhere else" you may not get to change it. I had a midterm on a day I was supposed to interview and the school was very nice and helped me reschedule. This was a couple months ago. By now, the schools may not have many Pre-December dates left and might reschedule you for after

OSUkiddddd, sup?! I have I think ~700 volunteer and ~400 shadowing
WOW! I do not even have close to that amount of dedication. When you log shadowing hours do you have to specify the different dentists names?

Question:
If you are going to lunch with some of the dental school students after the interview, do you treat them?

Yeah, like you have to indicate which dentist you did how many hours with. Don't worry, just do it over the course of a long time instead of jamming it into two weeks lol

I think I died a little on the inside
Haha it's not that big of a deal because I did the volunteering at nearly one place (well three different places but one type of program) over the span of all of college, which is why there are so many hours! And shadowing I did with one dentist for 4 months and another one for a few weeks. If you spread it out, it looks like a lot but it doesn't feel like it haha

My application was complete 8/13. I applied to 6 schools.
My only 2 interviews came shortly after I submitted (my state school and a relatively prestigious school)
The other 4 schools still have me down as "under review" or "app complete." - I really expected interviews at some (not to sound cocky).

GPA: 3.85
21AA 22TS 24PAT

Anyone in a similar situation? Getting kinda nervous with November approaching.

Some schools are really behind in their reviews (still reviewing batch 1 and 2) I wouldn't be too worried yet

2 interviews out of 6 is actually pretty good. Problem with the other 4, you don't really know what they are looking for, your GPA and DAT only tell part of the story and while they are both good, what else was on your app that makes you stand out? Most people that have 2 or 3 interviews applied to 15 or so schools.
