I am scheduled to interview at Children's National in DC on Thur. November 5th, and I am curious if anyone is scheduled for Friday November 6th who might be interested in switching? Thank you!
Not sure if anybody even looks at this anymore, but just wanted to update to show that programs are still giving out interviews.
Did they give you any reason? What ar your credentials?Got rejected by Colorado 10/30
They basically said they can only offer 25% of applicants an interview and that they wished me well.Did they give you any reason? What ar your credentials?

Step 1/2CK high 230s/mid 240s, ~3.5ish pre-clinical and all A's in clinicals except 1 B. We have letters instead of pass/HP/Honors at my small Midwest USMD school. 1st author in pediatric subspecialty retrospective study with published abstract, local oral presentation, poster presentation at international conference, international volunteering, and some other minor experiences. From what interviewers told me, my LORs are very good. I had personal statement reviewed by a program director in NYC who loved it. Colorado must have a lot of exceptionally qualified applicants!
I had thought I would get an interview there (OK, maybe I was being cocky) and probably would have ranked it in my top 2 programs; unfortunately I'm not getting that opportunity, but I'm more than happy with my interviews elsewhere. I wish everyone luck in Colorado and elsewhere and I'm sure it's an absolutely amazing program! Someone just posted this on Reddit which I loved (even if I don't actually hate them ):
I got rejected too and got >260 on both steps, had tons of volunteering, great clinical grades, and great LORs. I mean I don't have the strongest research experience, but what do you need to do to get an interview lol? I guess they take more local people or west coast, or maybe they choose based on the school you come from or from people who do aways there
Sorry to hear that! Congrats on the incredible scores - it's shocking that you wouldn't get an invite from any program you'd apply to. I have heard that Colorado tends to pick from select schools but I have no proof. Wish you the best on the interview trail. Hey everyone,
I hope all of your interview seasons are going well thus far!
Would anyone with a UNC interview in December be willing to switch to January 13? My fiance interviewed at UNC for Urology and he LOVED it, and their match list is due January 5. Since my interview is after both he and UNC submit their rank lists, this creates a huge problem for our couples match. We don't think that UNC will rank him highly without their pediatrics program having interviewed me, so it is very important to us that I try to switch my interview to a date before their lists are due on January 5.
Thank you all so much! We would be willing to financially help with any flight change fees or however else we can.
Please shoot me a PM if you can help! We would really really appreciate any help we can get!
Just wondering whether it is common to receive hand-written Thank you cards from the programs? Is it a sign that the program is considering me as a good candidate (it is among my top choices!) or do they invariably send this to all the candidates they interview?
I received a hand written note from the PD of my number 2 slot. I matched fourth. Several programs will have something for the interviewers to write or sign something to the applicants on the interview day. Don't look too much into it.Just wondering whether it is common to receive hand-written Thank you cards from the programs? i have received 2 or 3, so i assume they are common. hopefully i am wrong.

Thank you both for your input! Darn, I was being optimistic. Ironically, the PD of this program specifically told me that we are pretty straight-forward in letting you know if we like you. Oh well. I am beginning to understand that this process isn't that straight-forward.
just because they could be BS'ing doesn't mean they ARE BS'ing. It's still within the realm of likely possibility that this PD really did like you a lot.
If anyone with an interview at UT Southwestern on Jan 4 (or Jan 5) would be willing to switch with me for Jan 7 - please let me know!! It would be a huge huge help. Thank you!!
2 PM at the latest....Good luck !Can anyone who interviewed at Cincinnati Children's tell me what time the interview day ended? Trying to change some travel plans...Thanks!
