Hi everyone!!

August 5th is comming up soon! 2 months away!!! hope everyone has started reviewing!

This will be my third and final time...the first time i was expecting a lowins score and got a 24...the second time i was hitting 28 on the practice tests from aamc (practice tests 8,9 and 10)....but totally blew it on the exam and got a 22....so i have 1 FINAL shot....im not too nervous because i do know most of the material......thats my story!

sigh.. i dont believe my score. i got 34 average on the aamc tests.

i got 29S, low because of a effing SIX, yes a 6 in VR. i cant believe it. i was so sure i did well on verbal and everyone said if you do good on the practice you'll do good on the real thing. i wish i could see the answers. is there any way??

I personally ended up with VR 08, PS 11, BS 12, WS S, for a total of 31S. I'm pleased with everything except my VR (and VERY pleased with my essays). I was in the 11-12 area on it for my practice tests, so to see that much of a difference is disconcerting. In light of so many others (I saw a good few in this and the 8/6 thread) having low VRs in comparison to the rest of their scores, I kind of wonder if something weird was going on with our VR section?

I'm wondering if I should submit for a rescore? I have a roughly-average GPA and pretty low ECs, so the MCAT could make or break my app.

WS😛 is bad... J=2 ... T=12 , P is a 8 out 12 which is 67%. In my book this good for the MCAT because that might be above 75th percentile for WS

I think the VR curve for this date is a killer. Not too happy with my score either. do you think I have a chance at DO??? I really need some advice 'cause I'm freaking out seeking for all the help that I can get.

Weird. S on the writing? I definitely thought I might have wrote about something taboo, but perhaps not. Apparently they liked it. FML about the pysical sciences, I knew it felt too good to be true. Ah well. Congratulations to those who are done, and good luck to those of us who may be retaking!

i think you would def be in the running for DO. just make sure you can justify why you want to go to DO school 🙂

13VR 8PS 12BS Rwr. I actually honestly am askin for urs ppls opinion on this? the 8 is ayte no? i cannot even think of retaking i already burned all my study mcat books.

I dunno Aiz. But if I were 30+ I'd probably go ahead and apply with it. You're spread is a little more extreme than mine, but as its PS.... Still, I think a 33 is fine, since your lowest is still 8. I'd say forward! 👍👍👍 Perhaps you can tell them you were still sleepy? 😴 😀

VR score is the average score I have been getting on the practice ones, but i am sure I can pull the bio up 2 points. A 30 would have been ideal for me. You think I have a shot to MD schools with these stats? I am not aiming for Duke or anything.

If were you, I would retake the mcat and get 27+.. The fact that you were able to get Q on the WS show that you can do OK on verbal on a retake. Take the mcat again... 27+ might give a good chance for some DO schools

Dont retake... with a 4.0 GPA and 29Q MCAT your chances to get into MD schools is over 85% since you dont care about getting into the top MD schools...If your average in VR is about 8 on your practice test, retaking might be risky and anything lower than 8 on VR would be a red flag in your application.

I'm REALLY happy with the two elevens and thrilled about the T but I'm worried that the 7 will keep me from getting an interview or just exclude me altogether even if I get an interview. Opinions?

Yeah, I shouldn't really complain about it. It's just below the average for most schools (they usually seem to be P-R), but I'll trade a lower-than-expected WS for a better composite any day.

My individual scores were:

PS: 13
VR: 13
BS: 12
WS: P

I am very surprised I did so well on the PS cause I didn't feel too confident about it. VR I knew I did really well on - I just felt like I "got" all of the passages, you know?

Average AAMC was 28

Applying to DO schools. May have to retake in Jan.

This is good enough for DO schools... do not retake
