What exactly did your email say?

"thank you for applying blah blah"

"we are sorry but you are not even fit enough to even prepare for med school"

lol

"we are sorry but we cannot accept you into our program. There were a record number of applications this year..."

thank you again"

This statement is quite hard to believe and might be exaggerated a tad bit. I'm having a difficult time understanding why they'd make such a bold statement. I think they can be more encouraging than that...

I still haven't heard a word from the UC programs. Which e-mail did UCI use to send the rejection letter to?

... he's joking and wrote the correct statement from the e-mail on the bottom.

The one you are referring to is his own version for comedic relief.

also bad news from UCI 🙁 Sounds like UCI sent their emails out today.

I'm sorry to everyone who received these emails. I'm confused though. My app has been completed since late march and I still haven't heard anything from anyone 🙁

Probably means ur still being considered vs other applicants. I have a feeling everyone who got a rejection around the same time i got mine were automatically screened by the computer or our application just wasn't even close to competitive vs other applicants

I talked to the PB system manager and they said if the website states "complete" and you selected that school from the list then that school recived your application.

Really? I don't think so...

I've seen some people's stats (look on page 2ish-3ish) and some of them got a rejection letter. i was surprised.

I almost feel like they don't have my email address. lol..

can you tell me the sender's email address? i feel like I accidentally deleted their rejection email without knowing.

Dear Applicant:

On behalf of the Postbaccalaureate Program Admissions Committee at the UC Irvine School of Medicine, we would like to thank you for applying to the 2010-2011 Program.

Your application has been carefully reviewed by the Committee, and regretfully, we must inform you that you were not selected for a position in the Program. This year we had a record number of applications. Unfortunately we could not accommodate all the applicants who have the desire and ability to succeed in the program.

It is our sincere wish that you will be successful in achieving your goals.

Sincerely,

UC Irvine School of Medicine

Just out of curiosity, do you guys know if they are still doing interviews?
Because on their website it states the following, "
Interview Dates: Interviews will begin March 8 through May 7, 2010. Candidates who are granted an interview will be notified by email or telephone."

http://meded.ucsd.edu/asa/dcp/postbac/eligibility-applicant_info/

so if we did not get an interview, does that mean its done? or is it more of a tentative thing and they are still going through applications?

You would turn down the conditional acceptance to Drexel med through the DPMS program just to go to Davis post bacc?

Yes I would. I know that I want to go to UCD for medical school. Hence, I believe living up there and working in their community might help my chances of getting in. Plus, I am ready to setup my life. But no need to worry, I got rejected from DPMS, but I have my MSP interview tomorrow. I wish you the best of luck on getting into DPMS : )

I wish, but I don't know. I guess no news is good news, but it's pretty frustrating that we are in the second half of May haven't heard anything.

no news is indeed good news.
but, some people from past application cycles never heard a thing from them, rejection neither in the form of email nor letter, with the exception of UCSF who's on top in sending those letters. UCI just sent a bunch of emails last Friday. Any emails of non-admission from other schools?

🙁

Did you get a letter from UCSF? I haven't gotten crap yet 🙁

Is anyone at all applying for Drexel IMS-California? I have my phone interview with them this week.

Wouldn't make sense since the final deadline for applications were today

i talked to someone at UCI today because I was concerned with the fact that people who submitted their applications after me have been rejected and I haven't heard a thing. They told me that if I haven't received an interview or a rejection at this point, it means I'm still being considered and my file probably hasn't been reviewed yet. They said they will be interviewing through May and early June and they are behind in the application review process. They indicated that this was probably true for the other schools as well. They said they are still be calling for interview invites and if you get one, you will be contacted within the next 2 weeks.

UCI just sent another batch of rejection letters. Unfortunately, I was one of those individuals. 🙁

Same letter as the one already posted.

So my application was considered complete on March 3. I applied to UCD, UCI, UCSD, and UCSF. I haven't heard from any of the schools. Many of you I see submitted your applications fairly early [January]. Maybe they are screening and replying according to when applications were received, so maybe that's why I haven't heard anything.

For the people who have received your rejection letters, when were your applications considered complete?

I know I was one of the earlier ones, I submitted it last week February and it was completed on the first or second day of March.

And I have not heard from anywhere either...

But my friend one submitted the same exact time as me already got accepted and interviewed at all four schools.

And from what I have been hearing, all schools already accepted at least 5 people three weeks ago. And someone posted here UCSD has 7 now.

I'm a First-time applicant and was complete 4/13. If you haven't received any news, you're still being considered. Like someone mentioned above, at this point, no news is good news.

I believe the last date of acceptance is june 1st (unless you get a last minute spot because someone declined).

Does anyone know of someone who participated in the UCSF program?

I got accepted to UCSF via email this morning.

Congrats! How very exciting for you!

I was wondering if you could provide some indepth information about the interview process. I have not been invited for an interview, but would love to know about the process for any future invites. Thanks in advance!

Just call a call for interview invite from UCLA RAP. Applied April 29th. Anyone know the kind of questions they ask in the interviews?

While this question may appear to be the simplest one, "Tell me (us) about yourself" will always give them an idea what you are as a person, stripped off of the achievements you provided in your application form. Be prepared to answer this one. No "uhm"s, "well"s.

Hey! Congratulations! 🙂
Check out last year's thread. A few shared their acceptances to UCSF. Is it true that your cohort will enroll in Cal?

CONGRATULATIONS!!! I am not familiar with the interview questions, sorry. Would you mind sharing your stats (gpa, MCAT, etc.)? I would greatly appreciate it!

One question, let me hijack this thread real quick:

Do you need to have all of the pre-reqs done to apply to this UC PostBacc Programs? Also, if you get accepted, is tuition and housing paid for? And, lastly, how long are these programs.

Thanks a lot,

Omar Mejia

Hi! I just found this page. I wish I would have known about this weeks ago. Haha, I see that we are all in the same boat.

So I applied to UCI/UCD/UCSF/UCSD My application was Complete the day of the first deadline.

I got an interview from UCI first week of May-but have not heard anything yet. Has anyone who has got a UCI interview recieved an acceptance or rejection letter yet??

I have not heard anything from the other schools yet. Does anyone know when the final interview letters for the schools are going out?? Do I still have a chance at any of these schools??

I really want to get in, trying to stay positive 🙂

Sorry I have another questions. I saw that people got rejections from UCI. Has anyone recieved rejections from any other schools???

Thanks🙂

The interview was very very chill. They asked questions that I'm sure we have all heard along this road of becoming a physician: why do you want to be a physician, how are you qualified, what makes you the best applicant, list your MCAT scores and give details on how you studied....etc. Also they asked if I would be able to afford the program without financial aid which i thought was weird! lol

*Quick note, this year students will be taking classes at Berkley instead of SFSU*
