so i see that my official DAT score is uploaded on my AADSAS (i've already e-submitted my application on June 8th). it doesn't show any scores, but only the "date taken" and "received date" (by the aadsas) -- this was 6/15/10.

i'm guessing it's an official form that is downloaded from the ADA website so that it clarifies as an official report?

one thing I'm worried about is the re-take. I'm planning to retake in late July and I do not see any indication of the future test date. I'm not sure if I have to wait until the 23rd (since they said that would be the earliest date to see the post). Has anyone gotten a future test date indication? I applied to 14 schools and calling them one by one is going to be a hassle.. :scared:

wtf!!! Why aren't mine uploaded yet? Jeezzz, I paid them a ****load of money and they need to get it together.

You have to pay to see your official scores. They won't be posted on AADSAS.

What do you mean, we have to pay the fee to see the score on AADSAS?
It's getting confusing....zzzzz

No. It doesn't say anywhere on AADSAS about showing you your official scores. AADSAS lets you know when they have received your official scores from ADA, that's all.

You can pay the ADA to see your official scores if you want.

It's not complicated.

and then AADSAS will automatically send these scores to the schools we designated?

I thought that we'll be able to see our scores, starting as soon as June 23rd.

Also, I thought there was a difference between "Received" and "Posted"; this is according to the AADSAS website.

"Posted" may refer to AADSAS showing the date they were "Received". I haven't read anything about the official scores being able to be seen.

You could be right too, but who really knows at this point 😕

All this DAT stuff is just weird...

"Please be aware that AADSAS is in the process of receiving and processing DAT scores from the ADA. If AADSAS has received your DAT score from the ADA, you may see it posted to your application as early as June 23, 2010. AADSAS will continue to receive scores after this date and post them to applications as they are received. Please be patient while these scores are posted."

This leads me to believe that receiving and posting are two separate events.

I'm pretty sure this is right. They already indicated on mine that they received it. I'm waiting until the 23rd for them to post the actual scores.

Let's hope so.

Do you think schools will be able to see scores even if we dont add them to our ADA DAT score reporting list?

I called ADA today and they told me that in order for schools to see our scores on our AADSAS application, we need to designate them thru ADA (meaning pay the 25$ per school)....but the guy from AADSAS said that we didnt have to...

I really confused on this....does anyone know what is going on?😕

Can anyone tell me what this says (from the ADA website updated June 2010):

"Dental Schools to Receive Official Scores
[FONT=Arial,Arial][FONT=Arial,Arial]From the list of dental schools (see Appendix D), indicate which schools are to receive official DAT scores. If the schools you requested on your DAT application participate in a standardized application service such as the Associated American Dental Schools Application Service (AADSAS) or the Texas Medical and Dental Schools Application Service (TMDSAS), the scores will be available to all schools directly and through the application service. Schools selected at the time of application are included in the DAT fee regardless of the number of schools selected. You can also request that a score report be sent to your predental advisor at no charge at the time of application. ..To send an official score report to yourself or alternate institution after you have submitted a DAT application, the fee is $25 per report. "

You know what, I'm just going to wait it out. There's another couple of weeks of processing anyway so there might be more clarification on this situation.

In any case, once the schools receive your application, you can ask them if they can see the DAT scores. If they can't, then go ahead and release the scores from ADA, but honestly I wouldn't want to spend hundreds of dollars if I don't have to.
