Heh. Ok well I know there?s plenty of other SMP threads already. But since orientation is less than two weeks away, I thought Id get something started one last time specifically for those who are in the program and will be attending. I just want to get to know you guys a bit before orientation since Im not from DC and am going down there by myself (don't have any friends in the program).

So to get started, Ill post some stuff about myself I guess. Im basically doing this program to get my gpa credentials off to a better start (partied a bit too hard in college). Aside from that, my names is Kambiz (Kam for short if ud like), 22m. Im from NYC and will be going down to DC on the 10th in preparation for orientation. Will be living on campus (THANK GOD) and am kinda excited about it all. Particularly, I want to see how I can manage in the med school classes against the regular med students, seeing that they got in and well, I didn't 😉

Anyway, hope we can all get along down there. 🙂

My name's Alex and I am from Orange County, California. I went to USC for my undergrad and partied a bit hard as well, so this is my chance to get grades to match my MCAT. I will actually also be living on campus. Are you living in Village C East? And have they been giving you crap about moving in early? I have been having a hell of a time getting them to respond to me about when I can move in. Anyway, I am looking forward to meeting everybody, I will be in town on the 10th.

My names Gin (Gintien's my full name), from LA and just graduated from UCLA...heading to GT because my GPA and MCAT are average...3.44 for both overall & bcpm and 30P on MCATs...didnt really want to goto a drexel type school. unlike most people, i didnt party it up too much(since im allergic to alcohol) but was just a slacker and didnt study much. Ill be living with my buddy and our classmate mike who also graduated from UCLA, in burleith. the only thing im dreading about GT is the humidity. that and keeping a regimented studying habit. Mike's already in DC, ill be there on the 5th

hey guys. Yeah gin, dc's humidity is very bad...

alex wow, didn't think thered be many others stayin on campus. glad to see you are. Yeah iv had a bitch of a time gettin info out of them as well. but im happy to even get the room. Yeah ill be in village c. east 868 and was told that the earliest i could move in was the 10th and have to pay something like 17 bucks extra per nite till the 29th when the undergrads move in....

What?s up!

I am originally from Orange County, CA also. I would disclose my name but I want to maintain the anonymity of my SDN account for the rest of the nation! I'll let you guys personally know who I am once we all meet... and that I am the infamous MD Rapper! lol.. I went to USC as an undergrad and did pretty alright... Some mediocre to average grades in my science pre-reqs sort of killed my science gpa even though I rocked my upper division science classes in the last few semesters. I did pretty averagely on the MCAT and I have good EC's. I'm hoping that SMP will basically push my application into what is considered acceptable to med schools. This is my first time applying.

I will be living in Dupont Circle and will get in on the 9th of August to set up my new place. See you all soon.

I'm going to be in Village C East 962. They assured me that I would have a space to move in to by the time orientation started, but so far they have not given me any solid information, like where I need to go to get keys and stuff like that. By the way, my next door neighbor is also a future physio from USC
