Can I ask what your credentials are - GPA and MCAT? I am totally bummed I did not hear from them today.

Haha, I know I've thought about that, too. It's going to be really funny. We can be discreet and speak in code, only referring to SDN as "The Network" or something.

Not a chance. My GPA rocks, but my MCAT score in comparison to the two of you is not even comparable. It is really good for D.O. schools, which are all I want to attend. Would you go M.D. over D.O. if you got into allo?

I went to Indiana University undergrad; their medical school is amazing. Good luck!
 
Right on, it will be hilarious though. So are the interviews a 3 person panel with just one interviewee? That's what I gathered from the website and interview feedback...At least what I've looked at so far.

Shenningdo, I'm sure yours is coming soon. I sent my secondary on 7-13 and was complete per their website on 7-21, if that matters.

I personally will have a tough choice if I get into some allo schools, but AZCOM has always been one of my top choices...There are alot of allo schools I would definately not go to before AZCOM though.

Don't discount yourself, man. You already have two interviews I see. You probably have a great shot at AZCOM.

As for the MD/DO thing: If offered an acceptance to the University of Washington, I would go over any school in the country (allopathic or osteopathic). Beyond that, I have absolutely no bias for either DO or MD. They both have their strong points (DO-among those I've met, very cool, laidback, personable people. OMM is a plus, agree with the philosophy; MD-probably more opportunities simply because of the name, not the education. Probably less regionalization than in DO-for example, there are still very few DOs in the Northwest, where I'm from).

I have shadowed 2 MDs and 2 DOs (one of which is my uncle, a neurosurgeon). Loved all four docs and all of my experience has taught me that I can be a great physician through either specialty. My deciding factors will be board scores, rotation opportunities, match lists, cost, and, to a lesser degree, location.

For those curious, I have several reasons to hold UW above any other school on my list: cost (no. 1 ranked school in the country for $14,000 a year...seriously, pinch me), location (2 hrs from my hometown), strength of rotations and match list, and absolutely awesome and unique programs where you can work 1-on-1 with docs in the Alaskan tundra or any number of outrageously awesome opportunities.

Thanks. Definitely a long shot, but the program looks good and I love that they don't waste your time/money with a secondary unless you get an interview. Wish every school was like that.

You live and you learn, AACOM screwed me two years in a row, I finally got on the phone this year and told them that I would be hand delivering copies of everything a week after submission if I hadn't heard from them. As it was and is and has always been, their web site doesn't allow me to check on the status, so I emailed them a couple days later and got this reply:
"Thank you for your email - we have everything we need to process your application and your materials are scheduled to go out in our first mailing." 😀
Unreal?!?!?!?!

To the above poster....I was complete at AACOMAS on 6/29, and turned around secondaries pretty quick. Stats are in my link...3.55/3.5 and 30MCAT.
 
Also to the DMU-ers! They aren't kidding when they (meaning old SDN threads!) recommend the Renaissance Savery Hotel. The rooms go for $159 but if you say you're interviewing at DMU you get a $59 rate and the hotel looks very nice, plus there is a shuttle to/from airport AND DMU!
