hi,

i'm sending an update letter to schools i've applied to, and am including the grade of a recent bio class. Do I need to submit an official transcript, or will and unofficial transcript do?

for some reason the college i took the (post-bac) course at is charging an outrageous $7 per transcript, even if you only order 1. I'm going to need over 25. And this transcript will only reflect 1 grade.

so for efficiency and cost, i would love to submit an unofficial transcript--do you know if that is acceptable?

thanks!

best thing to do is to call the individual schools and explain the situation (especially that it will cost a lot of moolah) and see if they will accept an unofficial copy of the grades. If they do, then you will save yourself (7x25) dollars, and if they don't, then you will have wasted a mere hour calling them.
hope this helps!

Meh, this is simply an update letter. The bulk of people's letters will be full of "unofficial" details (volunteering, research, ECs). I don't see why an unofficial transcript would be a problem. They know that if they accept you, you'll send them an official one (and, of course, if the official one didn't match, your acceptance would be rescinded, anyway...)
