Hey Prime,

What day are you interviewing at Baylor? Just curious as to whether or not any other SDNers are going to be there with me on the 13th of September.🙂
 
NJMS (8/12/02) and UTMB (8/15/02)

But!! I have a question!
I live in NJ and I got an inviate from UTMB (which is GREAT!) too early! I haven't heard from any of the other four TX schools I applied to, and I don't want to have to fly down to TX more than once!

What should I do??
Is it a good idea to call the other schools?
ah!!
i didn't think getting an early interview would be a bad thing! help!
and what does one wear to an interview in TX in the middle of summer? suit??

I didn't hear a peep from them once I finished the secondary. Just a lot of waiting and then they emailed me an invite. Hope this helps. 🙂

They use both e- and snail-mail. The e-mail is sent immediately to speed up the interview scheduling process. The snail-mail is used for official confirmation. According to the secretary, it also lists medical students who are willing to host you for the overnight prior to the interview.

First, thanks. Baylor is my first choice, but UVA is a close second. I was contacted by snail-mail by a Ms. Small, who is the interview coordinator. My application was complete on Aug. 1. Good luck! If I can answer any other questions, post or pre-interview, just let me know.

Sorry, I forgot to answer one of your questions. They gave me a set date in my interview invite, but also stated that it was possible to reschedule. I didn't need that option, as I was able to make it on the 17th of September.

i got one from UT San Antonio too!
i haven't gotten the mail yet, but I called them today..
B/c I had one from UTMB scheduled for 9/6, I called other TX schools to see if I had gotten an interview.
and UT-SA told me they just picked me yesterday! =)

so I got UTMB to move my interview date to 9/13 (Fri)..
and then UT-SA interview is 9/16 (Mon)
I guess that's good b/c i'm flying in from NJ.
but it's sooooo complicated!

I have to fly down to Hobby, go to galveston, back to Hobby, take greyhound to San Antonio, then fly out from San antonio to NYC.
and of course, the flights have layovers in Atlanta..
gosh... so complicated..

what is there to do in San Antonio? i have to spend the weekend there...haha..

Southwestern sent me a letter by snail mail. In the letter, they give you a username and password for a website where you can choose your interview date (they pre-assign you one at first, but you can change it). Right now, the first interview date is 9/14 and they will interview just about every Saturday until the end of December. Hope this helps.

Adding Medical College of Ohio! Invite came by snail-mail. But before I could check the mail they called me to let me know that the wrong cover letter had made it into my envelope, and they wanted me to mail it back to them! Shonuff, they were right. They give you a huge list of dates and you get to pick your top 3 choices and return it to them by mail.
