**Official UOP status/interview thread 2011**

Does anyone have any idea how many interviews are left for Pre-Dec.? I'm hoping someone has info! 👍

I'm still dreaming of that UOP interview call 😍

most people got the 7-8 weeks to review update back on the 8th/9th. the 10th was the 1st word posted here about getting a call and they were setting up october interview dates. I doubt they will be setting up november stuff yet. I would think the interviewers don't know their november schedule yet or at least of a solid one enough. I'm sure they want to be some what accommodating to students also.

So I would venture to guess plenty of spots left.the only options were monday and thursday to choose from.

that gives 16 possible interview dates before december starting the 1st monday in october.

If they interview 8 people @ within 2 blocks of 9am-12 and 1-4pm. that gives 256 interview spots for pre december. I don't know the actual number they interview nor the block of time. I remember my cousin telling me they give you a tour, take you up onto the roof or so to get a great view of the city, and of course interview you. So 3 hours seems a reasonable estimate.

anyhow just relax. No news is good news. I know getting a interview call would be great news but don't stress out. Its out of your hands now. If you have classes focus on that. If you don't have class/job go work out. Its good for you.

Shimmy, it's way too easy to tell who you are from your avatar name....your secret identity is known to all of us. It's funny how a lot of our classmates are starting to discover that I am peerless218 and they're all like OH YOU'RE PEERLESS!!!!!! I AM GONNA START CALLING YOU THAT NAME FROM NOW ON. Is that a good thing or bad thing? Inside joke from middle school of how I am peerless, everyone is better than me. Hey Peerless, thanks for being an awesome help on the forums. I have a quick question regarding hotels. Do you have any recommendations for hotels that are nearby UOP? I have my interview in November!. Ahh! thanks!🙂

Shanics: Last time I checked, we're still dishing out Nov interviews. However, just chill because we DO interview all the way up to mid March, for waitlist spots though. Still....a good number of people than will still get in from March interviews. And to answer your 2nd question. No, we don't send out REJECTION letters really. We'll send out a letter saying, sorry but the class of 20/xx is full blah blah blah when the cycle is over at the end.

Rainee: I did not look into hotels when I interviewed b/c I am from the bay. I wouldn't know anything about hotels around here because there are SOOOO many around San Francisco and there are always different deals going around each week. Just search for it on hotel.com and look for one that's close to school. I heard the ones in Japan town aren't too bad. Just don't get the REALLY cheap ones because the quality of those hotels are really.....NOT GOOD. Go for the price range that's around 75 and up.

I can't really help you with hotel but here is the super shuttle # 4155888500 if you guys need a ride to the hotel or from hotel to the airport.17 dollars last time I rode it, not too bad. Good luck!

Mine has been under-review since 9/9, anyone has gotten out of that status ever since?

The "Application complete, under review for 7-8 wks" message will not change unless you get a call for an interview. Later this winter, it will change to "no decision made, re-review in January" if no official decision was made on your application.

Just a heads up for those that are constantly checking the UOP status site!

We're in the same boat.... 9/09 was that last I heard from them too.... hopefully that means that they are reviewing our files soon and not that we were passed up.

I think they are leaving it to us to use our commen sense and realize that we are rejected 🙂 🙂

For me, I consider UoP and NYU my first 2 rejection. My mailing date for both in in July and I have not got an interview yet. So I think it is safe to assume now that it is over for those schools.

You guys need to relax. When I was applying, I was seeing file under review all the way till Jan until I got that call. I didn't receive my phone call till Jan 17th. Just relax and see what happens. Some of you guys will get a phone call, some won't. Just don't give up hope as of this moment.

Yup as peerless said relax. take the advice I said a few post ago with all the schools.

assuming you got every paperwork in, its out of our hands now.

if you have school/work focus on that. if not go exercise, its good for you. Plus if you get accepted, the months you spent working out will make you sexy looking(if you already sexy looking, well sexier look), helps you score when you get into dental school. 😀

sitting at the computer hitting refresh won't magically make them call you any faster. Yes, I know waiting sucks. while I'd like to hear an answer, the longer it goes with them saying no(or some nice way of saying no), at least I can say there's still hope.

lol! good one! I actually TRIED hopefulDDS but that one was already taken! the interview i have coming up is a DDS school so i should've avoided using DMD altogether. oh well....
