***Official UTHSC San Antonio C/O 2019 Interview/Acceptance Thread***

Anyone know when interviews get sent out for SA or for the other TX schools? I think it was mid July last yr for SA but I am not positive.
 
I received an email this morning saying that they are now reviewing my completed application. For those of you who have been offered an interview, how long after you received this email did you hear? Also, are you IS or OOS? I am an Alabama resident.
 
I received the same email - Hope this is good news! I have the same question: Did those of you who receive invites get this email - and how long after this email did it take to get an interview invite?
 
I am still waiting on interview invite and got the "app received" email today (Submitted in May). My guess was that it was sent out now to stop people who hadn't gotten interviews from calling to confirm that the apps were complete/reviewed, which I had planned on doing this week.

Time to wait.
 
I actually just got the automated app received email today AFTER getting the interview email on Friday. So who knows.
 
Still haven't heard anything and my app was mailed out on July 18th. Would it be smart to call and find out if they even received my app?

Did you get an email from them verifying that they recieved your app? if so when?

wow I'm going to have to give them another call. I called a few weeks ago because they're the only school that I didn't receive an email from and the lady on the phone did not want to help me at all. Hopefully round 2 goes better.

Just got an interview invite yesterday, 8/28. TX resident.
 
I still haven't gotten my confirmation and my applications were transmitted around July 31st. is anyone on the same cruise ship?

I just emailed [email protected] (Assistant Dean) letting her know I haven't received confirmation and its been over a month and a half since my application was supposed to be sent to them. I called admissions and thats who they told me to contact.

Thanks! Can you update me what exactly she responds? I wouldn't wanna bombard them with the exact same email to know that she want us to wait patiently.

We've emailed back and forth a couple times. Somehow ADEA shows the application has been sent but they have yet to receive it in their system. Really pisses me off because this is one of my top choices. I just hope that when they finally do receive the application that im considered a mid july applicant and not a September applicant. Last email I received she said she was looking into it.
 
There's no supplemental for this school right? There weren't any special directions on it.

That is definitely weird. I will look into it soon.
 
I have emailed the school a couple of times and they are not responding. My application was complete August first and i have not heard anything ... I am freaking out here.

I submitted my app August 3rd and still haven't heard from them. Just recently got a "app received" email! Don't panic! 🙂
 
I submitted mine in june, but took my DAT in late july. So everything was transmitted by August 1st.
Still haven't heard anything ...... I'm freaking out here
 
Has anyone been to an interview here?! I just got my invitation today.

Yes I had my interview at SA last Monday! It was a long day but they are very nice and easy going. You have presentations all morning (about the school, financial stuff, etc), lunch, and then two ~40 min interviews-- one with a faculty member, one with a student. No crazy questions, no grilling, just basic get to know you Q's and your interest in dentistry. The people who interview you only get to read your personal statement, nothing else from your application. They are so nice and make you feel very comfortable. Then you go on a tour. At the end of the day they have you write a little paper about your education (it's less than a page), but I think it's just to compare writing style to your personal statement to make sure you wrote it (haha)
 
I was actually just about to ask if anyone has heard from this school..
 
Anyone accepted from instate Oklahoma and received an offer from Oklahoma too? Just trying to get a clear picture of what an alternates chances are... Thanks

I'm a recent undergrad just graduated this fall
 
I interviewed there yesterday. They said there is two more interview dates for each upcoming monday. Next acceptance round at the end of the month, latest you can be accepted is may 5. They sent out about 120 acceptances on dec 1.
 
I'm looking to take the dat this year... any one here in sa that did well on it would be willing to tutor me??
Is been a while since u took the prereqs...

The average overall GPA for the Texas school for 2014 was a 3.64 and the average DAT is a 20 (pulled from the TMDSAS website). I can't speak for science but I would assume it would be around the 3.5-3.6 range. But that doesn't mean you can't get in, there could be extenuating circumstances surrounding your low overall GPA that maybe taken into consideration among other things. When I first applied I had a lowish science (around like 3.25) and a fairly low DAT (like 17) and I didn't receive an interview but I busted my tail over the last few years and brought my stats up and received one interview and was wait listed last year and two interviews this year. But, truthfully, you won't know until you apply! You can always call the schools and talk to them about it as well :]
 
Congrats! anyone been accepted who interviewed Jan 12th?? I interviewed then and I have not heard back this school has always been my first choice 🙁

Has anyone heard of rejection letters going out, yet? I have not interviewed with them but also haven't received a rejection letter. I figured if I hadn't received an invitation to interview yet, then I would have received a rejection letter by now.
