Nope, haven't interviewed yet. My decision pending is still just for an interview, rejection, or defer. But it's already middle of October and I've been pending for something since Sept. 1! It's been a long time already.

Out of curiosity, Why do you guys want to go there? What are the pro's and cons?

if you're interested in primary care, they're nationally ranked i believe.

Yeah, they reached the top 50 in primary care. Impressive and they're ranked #1? in rural medicine.

yeah that is impressive! but if you're not interested in primary care and/or rural care, they still have a strong reputation in other fields.

It's probably so slow bc they actually read the whole application haha. A novel idea, I know.😉

At any rate, I am pleased to announce that I was invited for an interview 🙂 It feels so good to get a little love after this hellish process. They weren't initially my first choice, but I've heard very good things about this program and they've been extremely nice over the phone. If I get a good impression during the campus tour and interview well, maybe a few weeks from now I'll be dishing out the gargantuan OOS deposit.

Anyway it took from Sept 1(ish) to October 19th for me to get an interview so just have patience. 👍

Now, I have to scramble to buy a nice suit. Crap.😳

They look at other factors too. I believe they are looking for a complete package.

woo hoo! I waited from 9/1 and just got an interview invite today, 10/26! I didn't think I was going to hear anything from them at all (i.e. rejection!) so hang in there!!! 🙂

You may want to call up to make sure that your file is complete. If it's complete, it may help or at least to make sure they haven't overlooked your file.

Your file doesn't have to be complete to get an interview... It's only a pre-secondary screening (AACOMAS)

when i interviewed there in september, i arrived in lewisburg really early in the morning so i ended up staying at the hampton.

However, General lewis inn is nice, the beds are comfy, and they give you a 50% discount from their $100 fee if you tell them you're there for an itnerview which ends up being the same amount of money.

but the General Lewis inn is right on the edge of hte campus, walking distance, and you actually go to lunch there with the students.

I got lucky and they had a spot open up in Nov. I had been calling in regularly (well, once every two weeks), so they offered it to me. After that, their next interview dates were in December and she said ther were only 2 or 3 in December at that...

I wouldn't worry about it too much... I'd actually consider it a blessing, in part, because then you have more time to see if you get other interviews if this isn't your first choice. From what I've been hearing, however, I am really personally going to like this school... 🙂 🙂 🙂

I am. I got my invite yesterday, but I didn't know unitl today cause I was in Erie and just came back. I'm scheduled for Dec. 15, but I'm not 100% sure if I'm going, just because this is all starting to add up and cost a boatload of money. I know I"m lucky, I've gotten something like 4 invites this past week, but only one of them is within driving distance, and I've already gone on 3 interviews. So I'm not sure yet what I'm doing. But if I do go, I"ll be there on Dec. 15.
