I agree with that lil quote! lol, no but seriously Dinesh is right there, I get taht ALLL the time! it's like OKAY ppl like WHo helps you when you are dying of that lil tooth ache you think would never happen to you?? huh huh!! Ungratefulness is a vey bad thing, and especially when one is ungrateful about us dentists..you don't want negative consequences..we can make your lives hell 😀

If you're in the dentistry profession then "ungratefulness" is not uncommon, especially from most of medicaid patients. They think that it's their rights to free tx. They're doing you a big favor just by showing up for the appt. Most of them will never show any appreciation for your services. They rarely address you "doctor" (not that I really care). One hick patient called me Mr. L! It's ironic that most of the cash/insurance patients are more appreciative of your services than medicaid folks. Sure, they complain about the fees but who doesn't!

Funny how when people ask me what I'm doing, they assume it's medicine, and when I say dentistry the responce is:
"oh dentistry...".

I guess all the money is going to have to reimburse me for all the 'oh's"

People assume the same thing when they see me in scrubs. Are you a doctor/medical doctor? What hospital are you working at? I told them that I'm a male nurse just to f with their heads and to see that look on their faces. If the girl is a hottie then I would tell her the truth and show her my W-2 form and how big my.........car is! 😉

The best is when they think you couldn't get into medicine ,and that's why you did dentistry, when in reality, you could of well taken their space @ the medical school 😀

You can call yourself a dental medicine doc if you never think to yourself, "I don't need to know that" or, with regards to pathology, "I don't care b/c I'll refer all that stuff."

...and, when your patient attempts to gently correct them (for the fourth or fifth time) fail, then follow up their first fabulously intelligent question with, "oh, that's two years, right?" I am NOT doing the 5+ year graduate schooling route and getting myself into a truely revolting amount of debt just to clean teeth all day. 😡
