we are waxing a central maxillary incisor. i need help. it takes me forever to do it, then if i try to correct something i just butcher it. ugh. if anyone has any suggestions or advice. also we have to do this for a test and finish the whole thing within two hours. ouch. i'm scared!! helppp please
 
You're lucky. We only get 1.5 hrs to do the wax up.

are you from mwu by any chance?
 
Biggest thing is make sure ur wax is well luted... makes it easier to carve so big chunks dont break off. After that its just carving it down till its close to something that resembles a tooth, then go slow and fine tune it. I duno how your waxing works, but if you can put it in an arch, make sure it lines up with everything from all differnt views.

If all else fails, take an impression of an incisor and melt some wax into the impression... haha jk, dont do that 😉
 
Once I have a good bulk of wax, I heat up my #7 spatula and use the back to melt down and smooth out the entire surface. That way, when u carve it'll come out smooth.
