Ohio Applicants

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Just wanted to keep this Ohio thread alive. How are the Ohio applicants doing? I had an interview with OSU last week and I was pretty impressed with them. It seems like the students there get a great clinical training! Columbus won't be too bad of a city to live in. It sucks that they already made a decision on your file after the interview but won't let you know for another few weeks. I don't understand the logic here.

I think OSU is unique in that they vote for your acceptance immediately after the interview. Interesting method.

Hey guys,

I have an interview at cincy next week. How was it in terms of stress level compared to MCO or Wright State?

Thanks

Random question: Is there a Chinatown near Cleveland? If so, how big is it?

Regarding the chinatown near cleveland - not really, but kinda. And it is miniscule.

It's about 2 miles from city center on the East side. Not really a residential neighborhood (tucked in among some warehouse businesses and lower income commercial and some CHA housing). It is my impression that the predominant residence is not asian. Anyway, the area has a sort of "Asian" mall with a grocery store, a few other shops and some resteraunts. The dim sum is good, but I think it is the only one in all of Cleveland - though i could be wrong.

If having such an area is important to you, my honest answer is that Cleveland really doesn't have a Chinatown.

Hi everyone,
I applied at most Ohio schools, I got accepted (by mail) at Cincinnati two weeks after I interviewed, but I'm really anxious to hear back from Ohio State. I interviewed at OSU on Oct. 1 and since Oct 15 have had the status of "decision pending" on the status page. I was just wondering if anyone else is in this position and if you have any info on what it means, for example, is this the waitlist, is it ranked, etc.
Thanks, and good luck/congrats to everyone else!

just found out my cincinnati status:
No final decision has been reached.
The committee will continue to review applications for several months. Please continue to check this site for any update to your status.

OUCH, anyone had this and how long did it take for it to change into something more CLEAR like ACCEPT!/REJECT 🙁 or HOLD

Mackaikai,
I interviewed there on 11/17 I too have a similar message, I called the office of admissions and asked them politely what it meant. According to them my file will be reviewed next week so that is not a hold status as I had thought. So we don't have to worry just yet. If you are really concerned, call them and ask, they are very helpful. Good luck to all of you.
