So I had a question that maybe someone that goes to Ohio State currently or will be going will know the answer to. How many interview days does the medical school have? For instance, I'm from Oklahoma, and at OU Med this year they have 2 dates in Sept., 2 dates in Oct., 2 dates in Nov., 2 dates in January, and 2 dates in February. Basically the reason that I am asking is because I have an interview set at Ohio State for February, and was trying to gauge how high/low I was in the applicant pool. At OU, if you get an interview for Sept. or Oct. you're sitting pretty, Nov. you're still doing pretty well, but Jan. & Feb. means they've already handed out a lot of acceptances and so your interview needs to go really well. Anyways, if someone could get back with me, either through this thread or PM, so I'm better informed, I'd greatly appreciate it. Thanks.

I am not a med student there but I got there for undergrad. As far as I know they have mor htan just 2 interview dates per month. YOu can look on the intereview feedback and find out some to get an idea. The admissions board groups people into similar catorgories and earlier this qujarter I attended some info thing about it and at that time they said they were interviewing people with lower stats. I'm not sure what she meant by low but that was like October so I think if your date is in Feb it doesn't mean that you are low on their list yet.

OSU has more than two days a month for interviews. In fact, I think they interview at least a couple days a week.

A lot depends on when you submitted your AMCAS and when you were complete there. I can tell you that they are a strongly rolling school that gives out interview decisions about 10 business days (their phraseology, no mine) after your interview in a convenient online format. I don't know what algorithms they use to decide how many people to accept intially, but they seem to give out quite a few. Likewise, even if you get waitlisted, there is usually a good bit of movement on that list come May.

OSU is a large school with 230+ spots in the entering class, so they are able to accomodate (with an acceptance) a large percentage of the students they interview. But I wouldn't even really think about 'priority' or crazy things like that unless you are debating whether or not to go to the interview. The admissions process is the great black box that no one can understand, so don't psyche yourself out thinking about. Go to the inteview (fairly laidback), enjoy your free lunch (the only 'complimentary' part of this whole process), and hope for the best.

Does anyone have any idea what the fax number to the ADMISSIONS OFFICE is?

They don't list it anywhere!

I remember reading somewhere that OSU has interviews twice a week. I'm 95% confident that's correct.
