I almost never see anything mentioned on this board. Has anyone rotated in Columbus yet this year? I am also curious what others have heard in past application cycles.

Bueller?....... Bueller?.......Bueller?

Three years ago: Ohio State was the worst program in Ohio
Three years from now: will likely become strongest program in Ohio

OSU has huge potential, and with new chair they will finally make full use of this potential. OSU's cancer center has a lot of money and the RadOnc department recently got a huge grant from the federal goverment that will likely transform the department. Unlike Cleveland (Clev Clinic vs. Case Western) and most academic centers in the country, they are the only game in town. If you are willing to live in Ohio, I would consider this program strongly IMO.

I agree with half of your statement. When I interviewed out there 3 years ago I was underwhelmed. From what I hear they are definitely moving forward, but I think to say they will surpass the other Ohio programs in the next 3 years is a big stretch. The Cleveland Clinic program is pretty solid and also moving forward. Don't know so much about Case. I would rather live in Columbus than Cleveland though.

Check out this article about OSU Rad Onc getting $100 millions: http://radmed.osu.edu/article.cfm?ID=6448

That's pretty impressive...a rad onc dept getting 100 mil!

Maybe 3 years was a bit soon, but from what I hear the program has already transformed...the attendings who were there 3 years ago are all long gone and there are new, motivated attendings in the department.
