I need help deciding between Western and OHSU. There is a lot I like about each school, but I'm really confused. I've heard that Western is getting more attraction and many of the students really like it. OHSU is in a great city, students seemed happy for the most part, but I've heard mixed things about the school's new direction and curriculum. Does anyone have advice or more insight on theses schools?

I'm OOS for both schools, but I'm qualified for Wiche. So I think the cost of Oregon and Western should be relatively similar. I'm more concerned about the program and how students like the program.

are you talking about CaseWestern University and Ohio state university?

The cost of living in LA is much more expensive then living in Oregon.Just rent is about $2250,I live in Chicano hills which is very close to Pomona

Because I'm OOS, I think both schools are going to be expensive. I'm more concerned about the programs and how happy students are at each school.

I've visited both schools areas, been to OHSU directly, and driven by WesternU
According to this popular thread, You're correct in that they're both expensive:
Western University (CA): $494,434.67
(OOS) Oregon Health Science University: $486,323.52.
Both schools have 1.2-2k rent nearby, so costs of area isnt that much better in either capacity. They'll both be equal in amount of patients you get, but I dont know if western has any in-house specialities which may allow for more endo, ortho, and surgery etc while in school, whereas OHSU has speciality programs which may take away from some of that experience in the clinical years.
Both schools have new top of the line facilities.
OHSU is in portland, a very liberal but up-and-coming city, and rains a LOT, and the school is right next to the willamette river. About 90 mins from a beautiful but very cold rocky ocean.
Western is in LA, Not a ton of rain, is about an hour away from the beach, as well as tons of things to do. Relatively nice weather year round
IDK where you are moving from but closeness to family could be a nice perk of one or the other.
Both cities can have tremendous traffic near rush-hours.

My opinion is, think back to which schools seemed to offer you the most. You should check and see if Wiche gets reduced OOS tuition costs at either school, and consider your options for family, friends, where you felt like students were happier. I dont know much about western specifically tbh, just what i've googled.

But you also have to remember that western is a new school it hasn't produced a lot of dentists yet as a school.Has no reputation Thats why I choose oregon myself.

Reputation wouldn't really help OP unless he/she goes for specialty, and even then it's debatable.
For me going to a school that has a history and a reputation is important
