I haven't hear from OHSU since March. They say that the committee should be making decisions through the beginning of May. However, it is my understanding that OHSU constantly accepts applicants in increasing numbers as they near towards the end of the interview process(end of April -- now)

If anyone knows what's been going on, please shed some light.

I called them up on Friday but only got a recording.... thanks.

When I interviewed in early April, they told me they will have a response in about a month. That's what I'm expecting, so I will hear in about two weeks if they keep their word. Hope this helps, and please let me know if you hear of anything.

I interviewed in late March and heard from them last week. I'm not sure how they mail out the letters--whether it's in batches or not. Also, I didn't get the official acceptance packet yet. They said it would come within a month. I think they may have told me early because I have to take statistics for the MD/MPH program. I hope you all hear very soon!

I interviewed in mid February and got a letter dated 4/3 saying my file had been discussed and placed in a "hold" category.

Ditto! I interviewed in early February, and was placed in the 'Hold' category.

According to them, they are completely non-rolling. Therefore, everyone interviewing will be placed on hold until interviews are finished. They will tell us our priority number as the process continues. That's what I was told.

I interviewed in early April. What they told us then was that we would be lucky if we heard anything before May 15th. I called to check last week and she said that they were currently reviewing people who had interviewed in mid-March and they were trying to speed up. She also said that people who had outstanding interviews were being bumped up in the process and might get a decision earlier than expected.

CT - I PMed you.

Unfortunately those on the hold list will not be likely to find anything out until May 15th. The adcom at OHSU is swamped due to the problems with AMCAS and the huge applicant pool.

Called Jennifer just now. I am in the Hold category too! She said they will not start ranking people in the Hold category until May 15th and that one should expect a decision during the last two weeks of May (i.e. acceptance, rejection, etc.) Well, more wait! I hate this waiting game!

just want to clarify something...OHSU is a ROLLING admissions school. i interviewed in Nov and heard in Dec, so have some other people i know.

they did say at our interviews that MOST people in the EARLY phase of the interview process will be put in hold, but as the process goes on, less will be on hold.

I got the letter on saturday (5/4). i think it was dated the previous wednesday (5/1). good luck to all you guys waiting on OHSU. i really loved it and i think i'll always wonder what it would've been like to be a student there. there's always residency...

It's mid may. CT? trouta? any word yet? should we call them up?

I can't help thinking that they would know I'm calling by just looking at my number on their caller id. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Frown]" src="frown.gif" />

hey, i noticed some of you are from cali... i am really interested in oregon but feel like applying might be a waste since they prefer oregon and other western state residents without state schools. do you mind sharing your stats?

Check your PM..

Stats are important but it's just a small piece of the pie that make you an attractive applicant.

OHSU is actually looking towards out of staters because of funding cuts.

Yeah, OHSU is kinda out of state friendly. It's only half public.

Not true. Oregon is still trying to maintain an "Oregonian" population. However they are turning more toward out of state students due to the incredible budget crisis the state is facing at this time.

As for the waitlist. As I understood it, they weren't going to start ranking the waitlist etc. until on or after May 15th. Thus they said it will be the last two weeks in May before we hear anything definite.

first they say you will hear by mid may now it's the last 2 weeks of May? argg..

Any word from the OHSU "Hold" front? It was my understanding that the folks on that list were to be informed of a decision "no later than the middle of May." As we are now past the middle point of May, perhaps we must assume that what they intended was the middle third of May.
