I got an interview from OHSU.
I remember reading in one of these threads that there is an academic advisor at Portland State University that has a list of all the interview questions. I can't find that thread now. Does anybody know her/his name? Also if anyone had an interview recently, how was it?

Okay, I can help with this one. I believe the post that you are referring to is in the dental school interview feedback section, but no need to go there. The advisor's name is Karen Hanson. I got the list from her before I had my interview there earlier this month. As I recall, I was asked at least some of the questions on the sheet. I know of one person who's interviewer had the sheet in front of them and was asked almost every question. However, if you have been on any interviews yet most of the questions may have already been asked in one form or another. But it's definitely a good idea to prepare as much as possible. 😀

In regards to the interview, I felt that it was easy going and there was no need to be nervous. The staff at OHSU is very helpful and willing to answer any questions that you may have. Lunch with the student was a great time to ask any questions about the school as well. As long as you are prepared you will do fine. Enjoy the day and good luck on your interview. If you need any more info just let me know and I will help out as much as I can.

"Congradulations!"

I have had 2 interviews at OHSU. One last cycle (only made the wait list) and one this cycle (Read my signature).

For the most part it is a pretty normal and albeit stressfull day, but don't let the nice Dean of Admissions and the office staff fool you. The person that interviews you can MAKE or Break your chances, as I learned the hard way last year. So my advice is try very hard to find something about yourself that will impress them or "click" with them because if they find that for some reason they just don't like you it doesn't matter what your stats or grades are because you won't get in. (Especially if you are female-O.H.S.U. has had trouble with making their class 50/50 ratio of the sex and I do personally know 2 women who had trouble getting in.) Needless to say I didn't change anything about myself for my second try at O.H.S.U. except apply to more schools because honestly I think my interviewer must have had a bad day... it doesn't make any sense why I got into 6 schools so far this year, including O.H.S.U. and they were only school I applied to last year (O.H.S.U.) didn't except me. (D.A.T. was not retaken and G.P.A. stayed the same.) The only thing that changed was my interviewer.

They aren't going to ask you anything crazy, but the person that interviews you will matter the most and obviously you can't control this. So hopefully you will get someone with your personality. :luck: :luck: :luck:
