OHSU Snail Mail Update

I got a letter in the mail from OHSU today that said something along the lines of "your application has been moved on to the next level of our admissions process". Something like that.

Anyone else get this? I got the USC "we're not going to look at your application until a lot later" wait list type letter and it wasn't phrased like that one so I think this is good news/the next step in the standard process.

Just wanted to see if any other oregon hopefuls got this.

I didn't get anythig like that, but I'm in the east coast. Maybe. I'll get it later.
 
I got some mail from OHSU today too. Havent seen it yet. Wife says it basically says gpa is low but DAT scores are high so we dont have a decision. Might as well be a rejection.
 
Don't want to kill your excitement, but I applied last year and got the whole "you're in our competitive pool" that they "typically select from for interviews" letter but then didn't hear back from them until April for a rejection. I received the same letter yesterday and I'm trying to be optimistic, just have to keep in mind they use the word TYPICALLY 😳.
 
I just received this letter. Anyone else receive this in the past and get an interview/acceptance? It can't be that bad...and at least it's not an outright rejection...
 
My aadsas didn't change.

I don't think my letter mentioned anything specifically about my dat being to low or anything like that. Hmmmm. Seems like some of these may be personalized depending on what group of people they feel like your in academically that is.

Statistically, I'm above or meeting most benchmarks for GPA and DAT...so this letter might be refer to the initial screening for GPA and DAT - the next phase involves looking at other things besides those numbers...so I guess that's good...
 
How does OHSU regard out of state applicants? Anyone know the percentages or those who live in neighboring states?
 
Hmm... I'm in state and did not receive any letter...

I believe that most out of staters come from WICHE states, as with UW, but I don't know the exact numbers.
 
Bummer... I haven't heard from them yet. My status on AADSAS still says "Received/Under Review." Has anyone else's status changed yet after getting that letter?
When did you guys complete your application?
 
I got one of those letters too, to me it read you passed our initial screening, now we might actually open your application.
 
Has anyone else received a letter in the past week?
 
I got the letter today. I *think* this is a good sign. I'm OOS btw.
