Guys, I'm following the pre-pharmacy curricula at the moment.

I'm taking my last year of Gen. Chemistry, Trig., then finishing the Econ requirement.

I'll be doing Organic and Calculus with Biology next semester.

BUT, I need one more class, and all the Biology classes conflict with my current (3) classes so I can't take it 🙁 I can't take calculus without Trig., and I can't do the physics requirement without Calculus. Intro to Microbio had no pre-req. but all classes are full! I finished the English requirements already.

Do you recommend I just take an elective to achieve full-time status? I already have approx. 40 credit hours of Electives.

I have 12 credit hours of Human/SS elective and 18 credit hours of free electives.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

You don't have to take calculus based physics.....at least I don't for the schools I am applying to. You can take algebra based as long as it's designed for science majors and has a lab. This way you don't have to wait to finish trig to take physics.....

Thank you for your response, I greatly appreciate it.

The pre-pharm. curricula requires the "gen physics" core class.

There is at pre-req for Gen. physics at my University, and that is the second year of Trigonometry, which I am taking this semester (fall 2010).

Other than that, I don't see any other options in taking a 4th core class out of the pre. pharm. plan of study, because 1) I don't have the pre-requisite or 2) The class is already full.

My only option seems to be take an elective or take that Gen. Physics class at the same time as my last year of Trig. this fall ??

Do you think I should do the gen. chem? Do they use a lot of concepts from Trig/Algebra?

I'm very good with chem/math, and have gotten 90% > in all my pre. req's thus far so I think I can do it?

Take gen. chem. All you need to know to do good in chem is basic algebra. No need for Trig.

I would do a fluff class instead of worrying about the Physics for right now. Maybe think about a class like Sociology or Psychology.
