makes a difference to have prior experience before pharmacy school??

Getting into pharmacy school is the easy part, but you would want prior experience before pharmacy school for the same reason you always test drive a car before you spend tens of thousands on one.

if it's really a problematic field why are there still so many people involved and going to school???

Denial.

It can be either denial of reality that saturation is that bad, or denial that they themselves will be affected by saturation. They think they can stand out and be rockstar pharmacists who will always have a job as a credit to their hard work, charisma, and intelligence. Reality is that there are 15,000 students graduating each year from pharmacy schools fighting for about half that or fewer jobs that open up each year, and competition is far more cutthroat than most students and new grads are used to.

Experience would be good before pharm school just so you get an idea of what pharmacists do... People keep applying and going to school because they know someone who is doing it and that person convinces them how easy it is to get in, get a doctorate, and get paid 6-figures. They realize the problem after they graduate. Talk to any working pharmacist you know and ask them for their opinion.
