So I was at a recent pharmacy interview and we were assigned a group project where we had to discuss an ethical dilemma. At first, everyone just wanted to impress the professor/interviewer about our communication skills and "working together" type attitude. However, the conversation grew more and more hostile. This one guy kept talking furiously and more than once, thumped the table. His neck tie was loose and he started to sweat profusely (in a temperature controlled room). On one thumping experience, his suit ripped from around the upper shoulder area. That led a guffaw from many of us. However, the professor/interviewer was hardly amused and kept pulling harder on his white beard. A sign he's losing patience?
The young man was quite bullish in his views. In any event, one very beautiful girl was left in tears... that, I could no longer accept. She was a sweetheart. I kept thinking a girl like her should never cry (perhaps only of happiness for love). She was so suave and to further her qualities, she seemed brilliant. I tried to comfort her by sliding her a box of tissue (we were forewarned about the issue's sensitivity) and I tried to put my arms around her. The professor pulled on his white beard and said: "Young man, keep your hands to yourself!", to which the girl smiled. That made me feel good.
Meanwhile the guy kept babbling something about the issue. I said finally: "hey man, shut the **** up, aiight!" The professor/interviewer's eyes lit and I could see that he furiously scribbled away some notes in his folder. A sign I might be rejected? "It should be over the counter... via..."
Clearing his throat, the professor/interviewer interrupted: "Today, I got to see your 'true colors' and I must say... I'm very impressed. You remained true to yourselves. You should hear from us soon." With that he disappeared behind a thick curtain into a conference room where I suspect the Dean was waiting. I have no idea what he meant. In the ensuing suspense, I got to exchange numbers with the Cutie; both she and I felt good. The moment felt like Titanic, when one of us will either be admitted or both. I AM STILL WAITING TO HEAR FROM THEM.
What was the issue?
