Ok to start fake AMCAS application for practice?

I want to get a feel for the app and pre-write my activities etc. because the app for 2017 opens while I'm still in school. Do you think it would be ok to open a fake account for the 2016 cycle just to see how it is?

You should NOT have multiple AMCAS accounts/IDs. It may results in an unnecessary investigation because they may assume that you are trying to hide a bad MCAT score or something.

Even though you shouldn't make a "fake" account, you could create a "real" one, look at/fill out the application, and just not submit it. I actually did this but it was only because I was thinking of applying the previous cycle but changed my mind.

I would do this but I fear I may accidentally do something that would make me look like I am a reapplicant for the 2017 cycle

I can't fathom why you would need to start amcas a year early. If you really want to, you could just make outlines for the personal statement and activities section on a word document.

I did this without issue. You have to pay to submit and it would be hard to do that by mistake...
