I was just wondering how appropriate it is to bring up a significant other during interviews. I.e. for questions such as "where do you see yourself in ten years?" or "what do you do to relieve stress?"

Thanks for your input!

i would think it would be perfectly appropriate. I would guess almost 2/3 or my DMU class is married. I know lots of the married people do better, since they have a constant and stable force (assuming it is a good marriage) in their partner.

I totally agree here.

OP I can't imagine anything negative that could come from mentioning a spouse or significant other during an interview.

At least for me, my family is just the most important thing in my life. It's only natural that they would be a part of answers about my future. 👍

Agreed. I'm married and can't think about planning a future that doesn't revolve around my family. I'm sure it will come up during my interviews.

Figured I'd jump in on the moral support bandwagon. I mentioned a (soon to be) significant other and had no negative reactions. Several of the other interviewee's had families and were all received well. If it answers one of the interviewer's questions then i would definitely answer it honestly and bring it up.
