That's my understanding too, even in-state applicants who interviewed before Dec. 1 will not be considered until Feb 1, along with Dec and Jan interviewees that are in-state

I chose a late January interview date, banking on recency effects helping me. Gotta use that psyc degree one way or another 🙂
 
Haven't heard yet... I'm also in-state.

Dr. Jones told me that they would consider in-staters "if they had time" in their Nov 21st committee meeting where they decide who will get Dec 1 offers. In the past they have given some in-state acceptances on Dec 1 and I don't really think there is any benefit for them to wait until Jan 31. I know a few in-state students that got in elsewhere today and if they don't get into OU this week I would imagine they may elect to go out of state where they've been taken already. Seems like because of this it would only hurt OUCOD to NOT take any in-staters today... but from their language over the past few months maybe they really won't "get around to it". Don't know why they would want to wait on those who have already been interviewed but who knows... I'd say it's 50/50 that in-staters get notified today from OUCOD
 
I am an out of state interviewer, so I am waiting by the phone for a call today! just checked predents.com and someone had already posted they were accepted

Talk about good timing... Just got an acceptance e-mail... From Sally, signed by Dr. Jones. Guess they decided to take in-staters on Dec 1 after all!

I'm an out of state applicant I called Joi this morning and she said I was in. She said they would be sending emails out later and letters are on the way.
 
i got an email from sally too (also signed by dr jones) saying i'm the second alternate

Interesting. I only know a select few in-state who got interviews at OU pre-dec 1. Congrats to you guys. I'll hopefully join you in Feb.

Awesome. I need to relax and go do something productive. I'm sure there will be tons of spots open for in-state for Feb 1.

i really liked the school and congrats to those who will be attending OU DS, i think it's a great program!

fortunately, i had other offers so i guess it made my decision easier 😳

but nonetheless, congrats to those who got in and good luck with everyone in their long journey!!!

Accepted yesterday to OU and am extremely excited!!!
 
I just got an update! I received my letter informing me of my alternate list status. I am not 3rd on the list, I am #1 on the list. I just called the admissions office and they said that last year they went 5 deep in the alternate list. I am hear to plead with someone that is non-resident who got accepted to OU to go to a different school if you got accepted somewhere else. This is my... well I have applied many times I really need to get into school.

Sally just called me and said there was a mistake on the official lette they sent me. I am still 3rd on the alternate list. 🙁
 
Hello everyone. I am new to the forum. I am about to start at OU and I am going for dentistry. Not dentistry school but for my bachelor degree then dentistry. My question is, how was the application process to you? How was the interview process? What are the average gpa and dat scores that you had when you got accepted? Thanks!

I am an in-stater and got accepted on Dec. 1st as well! Congrats to everyone who got an acceptance.

I interviewed yesterday and they said that they would be deciding on Saturday if weather permits. Well, all OU campuses are closed today and tomorrow due to weather so those interviews had to be rescheduled to next week. That is going to make the committee wait until 2 weeks from this Saturday to meet.... I believe we have another 3 weeks til the rest of us know...

That definitely sucks....I know you guys are probably anxious!!! But they take the majority of their instate applicants in the second round so you have a great shot. If I remember right, its like 50/50 for an acceptance if you interview there as an instate student.

Crap, this is what I was afraid of. Do you know all that for a fact, or are you just guessing?

Because if they reschedule them for next week, then they should meet next Saturday (Feb 6) and we should know on Feb 8. I don't know why we would have to wait 3 weeks. Also, if the interviewers are taking off from work and school to do interviews, I wonder if it's possible to meet on a weekday.
 
Many of the interviewers are participating in the Mission of Mercy clinic next weekend, so that is the reason why the meeting would get pushed back to the 13th.

I know they were trying to get all of today's interviews done in the morning if possible so they could still meet on Saturday... but OUHSC closed at noon so I'm not sure if that happened.

Well, even if it got pushed back to the 13th they would let us know the 15th...which isn't quite 3 weeks (is what I'm telling myself)

I don't think so, probably why they aren't sending out acceptance emails until the 16th.

That would be my guess. They said in my interview that we could call on Sat afternoon if we were dying to know, and I didn't plan on it, but then I got ancy and called. I might have called too late or something because no one answered. So I'll just have to wait a couple more days. I would guess they're closed for President's Day, hence the Tuesday response.

Well, we were supposed to find out on Feb 1, which was a Monday, so I assume they usually do them on Monday. But then when I heard Tuesday, I looked at a calendar and saw it was President's Day. Perhaps it's just coincidence, but I don't have another explanation for Tuesday.

If anyone finds anything out today, say so, because I am dying as well.
 
I emailed Sally and she said that the decisions were made on Saturday, but that the Dean has to make the "final approvals" before they can notify applicants. It kind of sounded like, if Dean Young gives the go ahead, they will notify today... but don't quote me on that, just a guess.

They're definitely not closed today tho...

Hey guys, Im an in-stater that got accepted Dec 1. I just now got around to joining SDN haha. Congrats to everyone who is in so far and good luck to those finding out tomorrow! Can't wait for June!
