Old IMG

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Step 1: Apply to a large number of low-tier community IM programs.
Step 2: Wait, hope, pray.
Step 3: ????
Step 4: Profit, if you're lucky.

You're so far out your odds will not be good. I would post this thread in the residency forums though, the allopathic forum is more for medical students.

It is going to be difficult without a doubt, but I don't think anyone will be able to give you precise "numbers".
But what you know for sure is that if you don't apply then your chances are 0%, so give it a shot and hope for the best.

Thanks Mad Jack for your response.

I believe your year of graduation will hurt you as much as your IMG status.
I will try to do show casing at the hospitals that are IMG friendly, and taken graduate from your medical school in the past. You should also apply to/show-casing at a easier specialty as backup

Thank you.
