One thing I am excited about as I watch the whole Walter Reed news is having an office of bureaucratic red tape busters (ombudsman's office) installed. I would love to have one of these to refer all my patients who can't navigate the tricare/military medicine system to. Has anyone heard talk of this position being created at individual hospitals besides Walter Reed?

Many commands have them. If the command is small, a spouse of an active-duty member is often that person. Keep in mind, an ombudsman is an informal arrangement even when it looks as if it is not. They have no authority and are usually a way of channeling potentially useful outside information into a command.
