Is it ok if I submit my PASS application near the end of july? Or is it preferrable to submit OMFS applications before then? Thanks everyone.
Idk how it is for Peds, but omfs programs usually don’t even look at apps until late July or august. The sooner the better. Most programs start looking it at them as they come in. If a program interviews 30 people and have initially screened 100 apps in June, you’ll find that most of the spots have been “taken”. By the time your application arrives in July, they will have less interview spots open for you to compete for.
Ah good to know, I mis-spoke then. Will keep that in mind for future reference.Idk how it is for Peds, but omfs programs usually don’t even look at apps until late July or august.
June and July are program transition months. Applications are not considered until sometime in August. Have everything in by then.I have had two or three program directors tell me they don't look at the applications until their specific deadline, then they start looking. Program directors are super busy and have a lot going on. With that being said, part of the job is largely in part looking at applications and selecting applicants for interviews, they aren't going to start it until they have to (with the few I have spoken to). Hope this is helpful. Just don't wait until the last minute to submit your application.
Largely agree. Most PDs don’t even look until after the deadline.Based on my experience last year, rushing to submit it doesn’t do much. Just have it in before the deadlines. I think the earliest interview I got was in September and didn’t get any till for a month.
