Hi everyone,
I was wondering if anyone can help me out or give me some guidance on OMFS application process of the Navy. Currently I am a 3rd year dental student. My part 1 is 90 with a 3.72 GPA. So far I have not done any externships. I was wondering if anyone knows my chances of getting into OS out of dental school. Also should I do my first externship at Navy base to get a sense of what I need for the application process? or should I do the first externship someone else so I am can bring experience to the Navy externships. Is anyone else thinking about applying to OMFS on the boards? any help would help, honestly I cant find any information on the net.

Do an externship on your own dime for a week at San Diego since you are close. Have the Navy pay for you to do one in Portsmouth next summer. You have a good shot if you are not a clown in person.

Thanks bro! I like that idea a lot. By the time I get to Portsmouth Im gonna be clown free. But since its summer, do u think I could put Portsmouth as an "intended" externship since its probably gonna be after May 1st the deadline?
