I know it is a little early, but for those of us who have accepted our fate of not matching this year for OMFS, can some of you please comment on internships that you know of and say whether the residency has a reputation for taking the intern or not? Thank you much.

Galveston, TX comes to mind as a program that takes their interns, but this info is about 5 years old. West Virginia was another one.

Parkland pretty much matches their interns somewhere every year, but not very often at Parkland.

New Orleans, Shreveport, Parkland. If you get an internship at any of these places, it will greatly improve your chances at getting into a residency...

Along with those already mentioned, you should consider an internship at John Peter Smith Hospital in Fort Worth. The program is affiliated with parkland, and is a great internship. Fort worth is also a great place to live. I did it last year and got a ton of experience including OR time/clinic/education. The two interns there match every year.

BUMP.

Yeah, this thread is five years old.
However, still less than a 6 year program.
