What does unforeseen affiliation problem mean? What happened? Did all those residents leave?

Thanks

This needs to be explained before anyone can take it seriously. Why did they all leave?? please explain a little more.

Yes, please.

As someone who is applying just about everywhere in a few months, I need to know whether to save my $100 in fees and such!

Jacobi/Beth Israel has it's own 6 year program, which is new, and residents are not fully staffed yet. Meantime, an affiliate provided residents. They left. That's all there is to it. No residents "quit". Program IS ACCREDITED.

So is the relationship with Beth Israel done?

It is this simple. The affiliate provided residents to Jacobi while we started up our 6 year program. We provided the affiliate with the trauma cases, implant cases, orthognathic cases, pathlogy cases, etc, that it could not due to its small size. The affiliate went bankrupt and closed. The residents went to another institution which we are not affiliated with. We still have all the cases and a full attending staff. Lot's of cases ready to cut and an active dento alveolar service. Brand new hospital, new OR's, excellent equipment, new ER. What else do you want to know?

i will definitely call you after i fail step one😱

Well I can't hope to fill one of those spots that are open but it sure sounds like a good place to add to my list to apply to this year.

This is hilarious.... Cant believe that this is the same program that bombared applicants with emails about sending cash for application fees last year and then didnt even have the courtesy to send a notification or thank you note... and to add insult to injury they didnt even offer an interwiew or take any of their interns ...

You guys give NYC programs a bad name

Can I have the PGY-4 position please?

Thanks eh, I needed that. Why don't you ask jaded about his vast experience in the post doc application and admission process.

could you provide some numbers associated with the variety of cases done at this program?

Nahh, I hear enough whining and crying everyday🙂

Sad to say, but both😡

Doc,

will you consider someone who has completed OMFS internship for the PGY2 spot?

Sorry, no. Must have been part of an accredited OMFS program. PGY 1 internships are not accredited positions to my knowledge.
