Ok.. I'm a little drunk now after going out for the celebration... but here is the short of it. Graduated in 2001 with a bio degree... terrible GPA for dental school (below 3.0) took some time off to really decide if dental is something I really wanted in my life, during this time I worked as a lab assistant for an oncologist and during the time I met so many people fighting a disease they were probably going to lose too. After getting to know many of them I remember all the things they said about living life to the fullest and not letting your dreams go.. so after a couple years or so I decided to begin the uphill battle of getting my grades up. I attended a year long intensive program at a local philly medical school. It was a thirty credit grad program in Biomedicine which was geared toward kids trying to get into medical and dental school but didnt have the grades or test scores to make it.... I took medical biochem, micro, gross anatomy, histo, pharmacology, neuroanatomy, and medical phys, all in 1 year. Finished with a 3.7 gpa...(anyone going to Temple.. you want to be in my gross anatomy group... I've done it all already.. and it sucks!!!), was told that wasnt enough... went to another grad school and finished the past semester with a 3.8. FINALLY IT WAS ENOUGH TO GET AN INTERVIEW!!!!! Only after numerous nagging phone calls etc... etc... So here I stand after all the fighting... finally getting my shot to live my dream. I know the story is kinda ******ed but I must say it is true. That is why I say that if this is something you really want.. don't give up... during the last few years I have seen more rejection letters than you could ever believe... but it only takes that one letter of acceptance.
DAT: 18/18/19 ( I HATE STANDARDIZED TESTS!!!!)
