I put Dr. in front of my profs names

is that wrong ? how will the schools know if they r science teachers or not ?

i already submitted my app so its too late to fix anything but just need conformation

I don't have experience applying for schools yet so this is only an opinion, but your professors have earned the right to be called Dr. To call them Mr. may actually be disrespectful. I believe whoever reads the LOR will be able to distinguish if they are a dentist or not, if they can't then it was a bad LOR. I bet many/most LOR's from professors call them either Dr. or Prof.

Many science professors have a PhD. Schools will know that they were a science professor solely from the LOR that they wrote for you, it won't confuse them.

Schools should instantly be able to tell who wrote what. Having the "Dr." shouldn't make a difference at all. I'd be willing to bet most science professors open up their letters with " (your name) took my (science class) and did outstanding." Don't worry about it too much.

I'm not sure I fully understand your question... if someone has earned a PhD and is teaching at a university, they are always to be addressed as doctor. Period. If you had put Mr. it would have been inappropriate.

When reviewing my letters of reference, the schools that I applied to ALWAYS first called my professor's to find out if they had a Phd or not. Keep your fingers crossed. You wouldn't want this mistake keeping you from getting into dental school.

Same thing happened to me, except that it wasn't my fault. I put 'Dr.' in front of one of my professor's names, and when they uploaded the letter for some reason AADSAS changed it to 'Ms.'

How did you know your schools called?
And do you really think the admissions are going to call the professors of every applicant to verify something so petty?

It might matter if adcoms think Mr. is your gardner and Ms is your housekeeper.

No, they are all Doctors, so address them as Dr. (unless you were taught by a TA or PhD candidate or something...sometimes they don't have PhDs)

No we understood you just fine, but they are all doctors in there different fields. Trust me the adcoms are plenty educated enough to tell the difference between the DDS or PhD behind their name.

Don't stree you did it correctly!
