On Saverese's OMT, 3rd edition, p 143.
positional diag: right forearm has restriction of supination (radial head posterior)

- assuming this means the ease is pronation, wouldnt the radial head be anterior?

also, p 66
C. posterior radial head
etiology: falling forward on a pronated forearm
finding: restricted supination of forearm, restricted anterior glide of radial head

- i can see that you will get restricted anterior glide. but restricted supination? wouldnt it be restricted pronation?

I may be interpreting this wrong, 😕 thanks for the help

I may be interpreting this wrong! but when I look at p. 66:
"B. Radial head motion: the radial head will glide anteriorly and posteriorly with supination and pronation respectively of the forearm. When the forearm is pronated, the radial head will glide posteriorly. "

To me this says that if the position of ease is pronation (supination is restricted) the radial head is stuck posterior. So, if the forearm is pronated at the time of fall, the head gets stuck back with resultant restriction of supination and anterior glide.

??? Is it just me?

thanks for the replies
any other thoughts on this?

I was a little confused at first too, but now i just grab my own elbow to figure it out. I hope thats no cheating!
