Hey--was anyone watching Star Trek: Voyager tonight? I don't know about where you are, but on NBC at 5pm they show reruns here, and the opening scene had the Doc (does he have a name?) doing OMT on the Captain! The conversation went something like this:

(Doc massaging Capn vigorously on exam table)

Doc: Captain, you must cut back on your work hours. Your body can't handle it!

Capn: (grunting) Isn't there an easier way to do this? Like a hypospray or something?

Doc: Always looking for the short way out. Sometimes there's just no substitute for good osteopathic manipulation! (Doc grabs an arm and wrenches it hard, causing cracking sound)

Anyway, I thought it was kind of cool.

Yeah, I remember when that one aired for the first time a few years ago. Wasn't it cool?

It's a good thing he didn't do the Texas Twist on her

. She might not have lived to fight the Borg... (hey, wasn't the doctor being a little rough?)

This is nothing new. Mr. Spock pioneered the use of Interplanatary OMM techniques to relieve all twinges of consciousness. What was even more remarkable was the vast storehouse of anatomical knowledge he had accumulated: he could effect great changes on just about any creature--even the Horta!

On several occassions, Spock even managed to "meld consciousnesses" with others. Talk about holistic medicine!

Actually, I didn't get the name of the episode. It was the one where an alien race "invades" the ship invisibly and performs medical experiments on the crew without their knowledge. Ironic, eh?

Anyone know the namw?
