As we transition into a new academic year, I figured it's appropriate to start a thread for all of us residents to discuss questions/tips/tricks/etc about all the ER calls, floor calls, consults, etc that we get. In the spirit of the "ER laceration consults" threads we have floating around the forum archives...hopefully we can all learn some stuff!
I'll start. What are y'all's pearls for interns/junior residents on ER consults for hand/finger infections? What about hand lacerations? Do you repair tendons in the ED if visible, and if so, how?
