if you do better on the passages you fully comprehend (like grasp the main point) & in order to do so, you have so spend some good amount of time, and there are not enough time to do that for all passages

would you do 6 passages (hopefully do well on questions) & just randomly guess one passage

or would you try to not comprehend fully (risking doing well on questions) & finish all passages..

what would you do????? i mean best solution would be improve problem solving methods or reading timing but if there's not enough practice time to improve, and you're taking real MCAT?

I think there's a prep company that actually teaches that strategy, so there must be some instances of it working.

Personally, I'd never do it. The curve is way too tough on verbal to guess on a whole passage.

That strategy is by TPR. There was a discussion not too long ago where everyone, including SN2ed, disregarded such strategy as rubbish.

Honestly, OP, if you are looking to improve MCAT Verbal, you should realize that the first step to improve is to understand that there is no "strategy" that can get you a good score. Furthermore, as EK Verbal states, if you want 10 or better, you must do all the passages and every question.

In addition, based on many experiences, people really do not know how their Verbal was until their scores come out - and this doesn't just affect the exam, but individual passages as well. So you may *think* you got it, but you may not have gotten it really.

Personally, I would not recommend such strategy either. I once tried this method during my practice session and it vitually ruined my ability to focus. I was ready to ditch a passage if it's too difficult and it was just too distracting with this kind of mindset. And yes, if you want a decent score on VR section, you need to finish all passages.
