When you construct the image from the flat pattern, do you fold up or down or can it be both. I know this question is confusing, like are the images coming out of the paper towards you or going away.

I've been trying to figure this out but haven't been able to.

Prsn.. if you read this, I remember we had this issue with one of your pattern folding questions.. did you ever get that figured out?

I mean.. I looked up all the directions from crackPAT and topscore to try and resolve this before and there was nothing stated about the correct way to fold so your SOL there..

Yea it is really annoying. Im thinking it can be done both ways. I think I am just stressing over small things. I have not really prepared that much and am taking the DAT this Saturday.

It can't be done both ways. The problem prsn encountered was that he was getting one answer that wasn't an option. I stepped in and answered the question and got it right (by chance).

Basically both options were correct. The issue was that he was folding it one way and was consumed by it enough to not think of folding it the other way.. which was the original way I folded it. Both scenarios gave two equally correct answers. I hope it was just a bad question but if I were you I would really look into this. Maybe contact the ADEA?

Guys, remember UCB05 said you are only allowed to fold IN and thats it. He uses some phrase like, you cant see the back of the paper or something. I followed his advise and the pattern folding is a cake now. I been getting 12-13 out of 15 on them, becuase I usually close to running out of time by then

Thanks for that. Any advice on hole punching? These ones I'm seeing on CrackPAT are insane and take 2 minutes to do..

What PAT resources are you using? I have topscore too and those ones are easy but I'm really worried about the hole punching because it just takes so long to get the right answer.. Everything else except for angles seems to be easy.

Comes with practice, draw a checker table and plug in the folded holes, then unfold and see where they fall on. if you think they will only appear for one fold and not for the next ( because of the way the next one if unfolded) put an X in the box and still apply in toward the rest of unfolding. That X, usually ( but it could) wont show up on your final answer. I know that I am probably confusing you.
You got to get perfect on score on pattern folding and cube counting to stand in a good position with your PAT score. practice re/unfolding it on a paper and you ll get a hold of them. as everyone says it, CDP is GOLD. try couple 1st one without the timer to get a hold of it.

NEVER NEVER FOLD TOWARDS YOU.... ALWAYS AWAY FROM YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!....

read the instructions+RULES for pat...

Damnit peanut, I had it but now you confused me more..

If your looking at say an addition sign +

The top side folds towards you
The left side folds to the right
The right side folds to the left
The bottom side folds away from you

Say there was an extension on the top side at which point it would fold down to complete the cube (assuming there was an additional extension creating a base on the bottom)

Correct?

man NO... you are not using your nut. so you see the +
1. the top sides folds AWAY FROM YOU INTO THE PAGE.
2. the left side folds the right by going into the page... not while it is coming out towards you to the right
3. the right side folds into the page towards left... not while its coming out towards you to the left.
4. the bottom side folds AWAY FROM YOU & INTO THE PAGE.

Just remember everything GOES INTO THE PAGEEE. nothing comes towards you... (includign women; jk)

Got it. Thanks for clearing it up. It will be a few days until I get a chance to try this but if I get a question wrong I'm coming for you. :meanie:

Really though, you've been a great help with everything. Are you DATing soon?
