I'm just curious as to how many people have been accepted at the end of their interview and at what schools. I had a friend a few years ago that was accepted PREAPPLICATON at Howard by the dean of admissions (she had a 30+ GPA and undergrad/grad GPA of 3.8). I also recently heard of a woman accepted during the interview at OSU.

at my einstein interview, my interviewer confidently said: "you're gonna get accepted" after the interview ended. i proceeded to to ask: "really? are you sure"? she then backtracks and says: "i can't guarantee that you'll be accepted. but based on my experience, i think u'll be accepted and i can't imagine why u wouldn't. if u don't get here, u'll get in somewhere else". a couple of months later, i'm holding an einstein acceptance letter in my hands and it's the only school i've been accepted to.

I got a letter from pod school offering me a place without even an interview 😉

My interviewers at Jefferson and Minnesota were very positive, "exactly the kind of student we're looking for", and hoped I'd decide to come to their school...alternate list and haven't heard back since October, respectively. As far as anything anyone tells me in an interview, I'll believe it when I see it in writing.

My MD faculty interviewer at UPitt stuck out his hand, shook mine, and told me "Congratuatlations, you've been accepted to the University of Pittsburgh medical school." He told me that everyone he gives postive recommendations to are accepted and that I should come back between year 1 and 2 to work for him.

Then I got rejected by their MD/PhD program. Which isn't surprising considering that MD reviews are not looked at by their MD/PhD committee and I didn't like Pitt's MD/PhD program all that much. I am still yet to hear from the MD side.

A certain other MSTP applicant/SDNer was accepted to a school pre-interview. They told him he could come like a normal interview, but that it would really be a second look for him.

Y'all probably too young to remember The Cookie Incident...one of the most infamous threads on SDN back in the day...ask some of the old-timers about it.

My friend's NYU interviewer told him he got in after his interview. He received the acceptance in the mail a couple of weeks ago.

My CWRU interviewer told me at the end of the interview "Just off the record, but you should really come to Case. You'll like it here." I got the acceptance a month later.

hmmm...i vaguely remember about it....

apparently, someone named 'cookie' got into some school, and stopped using sdn when everyone asked her about it. then, a new user, lady in red, coincidently joins about the same times. she's applied to a whopping 60 schools, has 3.9+ gpa, sub-30 mcat? and ends up getting into ucsf.

i don't remember the 'cookie' incident all too well... i remember 'lady in red' - but that's about all...

HUH?
was there like a point to that?

come to think about it, i bet some interviewers out there watched simon in american idol and r taking him as a model.....watch out 😱
