Does anyone know HOW we withdraw from a class (after we've put down the place holder deposit?)

Do I need to send letters or something?

You can either call, e-mail, or write a letter. I don't think there is a set format for withdrawing.

I really don't think that the mode of notification matters, but you should definitely withdraw from schools once you know you're not going to attend in order to let people in off of the waitlist. I've written emails to some schools and handwritten notes to others. When I sent withdrawals to schools via email I asked whether they needed a more formal letter, and was always told that my email was sufficient.
