Okay, so I've done a bit of research on the internet, as well as some searching on this forum. I've considered specializing in oncology, but am I bit confused as to how to get there. From what I gather, I would first need to simply get my PharmD (I guess this is the norm for any type of pharmacist). Then is a residency required? Also, I came across the mention of getting some sort of oncology certification? If that's correct, where do you receive education/training to get certified? More school? Through experience (from a residency)?

Any insight is appreciated.

You will have to do a PYG1 pharmacy practice residency and likely a PGY2 specialized residency in oncology. There is the opportunity to be board certified in oncology, but is not required and most pharmacist take the test after being in practice for a few yrs at least.
