so the title says it all. i'm in my 4th year right now and kind of trying to decided between a few specialties, so i was wondering if doing a second rotation is really going to make any difference when it comes down to matching into EM in the end. i'm doing a EM rotation at my home school (UArizona) this year. i'd really appreciate the input from the current residents and attendings. thanks.

One is fine if you get good SLORs.

Aways are like beer. One can be enough, two can be better (I've heard). And nobody ever drinks more than two beers, so you don't need more than two aways. I am actually doing three though, but one is in toxicology, so it doesn't count.

Plus, it is important to note that your school has EM, whereas many people don't have it at their school, and thus cannot get the practice interview and the home SLOR. They usually want more than one.
