One day this could be ours...

DAmn ! Now that's an office. can't have that here in booklyn. I wonder what he's fees are, probably as high as on Park Avenue.

I'll be just as happy with a plain jane office as a small town rural dentist. That office just aint my style. That's the great thing about dentistry, we will all cater to our own practice philosophy.

However, that is a hella nice office, but just isn't "me"

Pretty cool office. I've assisted an Oral and Maxillofacial surgeon in that area for 4 years and haven't heard of this guy. Is he knew? And if so I wonder where he went to school.

Now, that just boosted my motivation and I will go take this coming DAT and hit a home-run (or it my hit me a home-run).

Now that site... is just a place for tooth-fairies. My eyes hurt when I saw the office.

this is probably going too far...

All of our patients can expect to be treated like celebrities.

Smile Design and Full Mouth Reconstruction patients are treated to the following amenities during their preparation appointment:

? A warm, cozy terry-cloth bathrobe to help you relax
? Cashmere blankets for added warmth during your procedure
? Scented hot-wax mittens to smooth and relax your skin
? Lavendar and lemon infused hot towels
? A customized lunch will be delivered on fine china when you spend the day with us
? Upon completion, our licensed reflexologist will pamper you with an invigorating foot massage

Cashmere blankets? Come now....blood and cashmere do not mix.

You've got to be kidding . . . It doesn't even look real. It looked like everyone was glowing in their pictures. Not a bad idea, though. Talk about finding a niche--I wonder what type of cash he's invested to get that pad.

Not nearly as much as he's making. His line of business isn't preventative, it's purely cosmetic, so it's very much akin to visiting the spa.

Essentially, he's brought dentistry INTO a spa, and dentistry is just part of the complete package that he's selling.

I'd say less than 5% of dentists can get away with this. Often the start-up costs are simply too high.

Or you go nuts from all the vain women undergoing a mid-life crisis who aren't EVER happy with the work you do. Some of these women take the concept of a "perfect" smile to a whole new level and you better be ready to deal with fixing "problems" you can't even see. That's the cost of having such high fees.

I hear ya jaap. I worked in a general dental office and saw the same complaints, but not nearly as much as this guy probably does. This is especially true due to the fact that this guy was the dentist for the Miss America competitors, maybe it was miss arizona, not sure. Anyway, the guy has tons of cash and is also the official dentists of the Phoenix Coyotes. I can't say that I am too envious of all the crap this guy has to put up with, regardless of how much he makes.

I think this guy has taken the comfort idea to the next level. I wouldn't want to run that type of practice for the exact reasons japp mentioned. However, its nice when an office is luxurious. It definately helps "fool" patients so they dont dread coming to the office. I am all for making a very inviting, high-tech office, but this guy is something else.

I wanted to make a comment about this particular dentist because I know of him. This summer while volunteering at St. Vincent De Paul's free dental clinic I heard a lot of stories about this dentist. He has been volunteering there for many, many years and although I didn't have the privilege to meet him, I heard from EVERYONE that works there that he is the nicest, most down-to-earth person they have ever met, as well as humble. You have to realize that the people we treat in this clinic are some of the poorest people in our community. I heard many stories of how well he treated all the patients, how caring he was, and how genuinely concerned he was about meeting their needs. I was told he did incredible work and that he's truly a gifted and talented dentist. To see his website, (BTW I hadn't seen it before), you would "assume" this dentist to be sort of "stuck-up", however, after hearing my colleagues speak such wonders of him and of the very high-quality person that he is, its nice to know that even though he is one of the best cosmetic dentists and extremely rich, he continues to be humble and down to earth. I respect and appreciate that. BTW, I heard the whole family including wife and children are very nice and down-to-earth as well.

I would be his patient if I can afford. Come on, spa and foot massage and lunch deliver on fine china. That sounds more like cruise ship dentistry style.

Probably only golfers and celebrities are his patients. Not normal folks like us.

"But what about my massage?" "Ask Newman!" (Cosmo Kramer and Jerry Seinfeld)

All joking aside, I think that this is a little overboard. I mean why are meals offered? Is this suposed to be the equivalent of a test drive for your teeth?
