I was researching UPENN when this concept came up, but after some googling of its definition... I am kind of lost lol

this is what i got from google:
The “One Medicine Concept,” coined by Dr. Calvin Schwabe, is defined as the study of health and disease regardless of species differences between human and animals. It focuses attention on the commonality of human and veterinary medicine.

seems kind of out of context in terms of dentistry no? anyone from UPENN care to clarify
 
researching disease using animal models...
pretty common practice in medical research

in terms of dentistry, there have been studies looking at mice teeth. The hope is that if we can discover something in mice (treatment, therapy, etc), it could be translatable to humans.
 
ah makes perfect sense. I feel dumb now lol.
