I think I know the answer, but i'd like some input here. I have my Masters, and I am working on my PsyD. My practicums have all been hospital-based, but looking toward my internship and beyond, i'd like to work in the correctional/police system. My issue is that I have no experience on my CV related to that sub field. So would a certificate in Criminal Justice or Corrections from a generic online school be seen as something worthwhile to add on my CV or would it end up seeming less than professional in the long run? I appreciate any advice or comments.

I don't imagine they'd help at all, no. In actuality, it might backfire on you if you get them while working on your Psy.D., as the internship sites might ask how you had time to pursue an additional online degree/certification, and why you chose to focus on that instead of deciding to complete additional practica and/or research projects.

No.

The only online courses/training you should consider:

1. To meet a requirement for licensure for a class you didn't get in your doctoral program (common in CA and NY).
2. To meet your C.E. credit requirement to maintain your licensure.
3. Free webinar or similiar, but nothing that should be listed on your C.V. I did a Pearson webinar awhile back to see if I could learn something I didn't know already about the WAIS-IV and ACS...it wasn't worth it.

Thanks, I didn't think it would be worth it either. I do have my state licensure, so thats a plus. Alright, thanks for the help guys!
