Hello,
I am working on completing my last four pre-req courses to apply to pt school. Does anyone know of any schools that offer General Chemistry and /or Physics online? Thank you!

My school offered physics online but we still had to attend lab in person. I would be very careful with online pre-req's though... Most programs that I've seen do not alone pre-req's that have been taken online--especially the science classes.

I've also seen that most if not all the schools I've looked at do not allow science courses to be taken online.

You know, you shouldn't believe every single post although they may be correct in some circumstances, I am taking most of my prereqs online since I have been traditionally a home schooled individual and can actually learn better this way. That being said, I have found 20 PT schools that don't mind online work. You just have to search that's all. Good luck with your PT journey!

What Dragon says is true. I have taken about half of my prerequisites online and the schools I am applying to are totally cool with it. Just do your research and ask the program if you aren't sure. Taking classes in person is the safest bet, but if you need to take classes online for work or scheduling reasons, then there shouldn't be anything wrong with it.

Pima community college in Tucson AZ has an entirely online physics course. But check with your schools before taking it. Don't want to waste money on a class that doesnt give you any credit.

Thanks everyone for the info! Nova southeastern accepts online courses from regionally accredited schools. The hard part is finding those online courses from regionally accredited colleges / universities! 🙂

I did nearly all my pre reqs online through Iowa Western CC (beware the physics is no joke!!! I did it over the summer and it was avg 4+ hours every single day! And I would say I'm strong in the subject.) and Metro Community College (Omaha). The Kansas community colleges also have a collaboration and offer many online science classes.

The Colorado Community College system offers most, if not all, science courses you need for PT school online. They do require a lab kit that can be a little pricey. As everyone else said, it really depends on the school. Transcripts also generally don't say if a class is online. Obviously if you choose a school in Florida to take classes through and you live in California they will be able to put 2 and 2 together, but if you choose a school that is close to you they probably won't have a clue. I will also say that not all online sciences are easy. I took Chem I online and had to work my tail off.
